Virginia Tech is a public land-grant university serving the Commonwealth of Virginia, the nation, and the global community. The discovery and dissemination of new knowledge are central to its mission. Through its focus on teaching and learning, research and discovery, and outreach and engagement, the university creates, conveys, and applies knowledge to expand personal growth and opportunity, advance social and community development, foster economic competitiveness, and improve the quality of life. As the Commonwealth’s most comprehensive university and its leading research institution, Virginia Tech offers over 280 undergraduate and graduate degree programs to more than 34,000 students and manages a research portfolio of more than $521 million. Virginia Tech is located in the beautiful mountains of Southwest Virginia, offering a wide variety of cultural and outdoor recreational activities. The School of Education’s Educational Leadership program offers classes at locations throughout the Commonwealth, including Blacksburg, Abingdon, Roanoke, Richmond, Hampton Roads, and Northern Virginia. Degree programs are also offered virtually. The Virginia Tech School of Education is seeking applications for an open-rank professor of Educational Leadership. This nine-month, tenure track/tenured faculty position is available August 2021 at the Blacksburg, Falls Church, or Richmond, Virginia, campuses. Some travel required. Responsibilities include conducting an active research agenda; teaching courses in masters and doctoral programs that prepare students for a broad range of administrative and leadership roles in PreK-12 school systems, government agencies, and non-profit organizations; and providing service to the School, College, University, and profession.
