It Looks Like Southern University Head Coach Dawson Odums is Headed to Norfolk State
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on April 22, 2021 According to HBCU Sports, Dawson Odums, who spent the last nine seasons at Southern, is expected to be named the next head at Norfolk State. After finishing with a winning season and dominating Grambling at the Bayou Classic last weekend, the news comes as a bit of a surprise to Southern fans. During his time as head coach at Southern, Odums guided the Jaguars to four SWAC West division championships, four conference title game appearances, and one SWAC crown in 2013 after assuming the role from then-head coach Stump Mitchell in 2012 (HBCU Sports). Odums will replace Latrell Scott, who resigned at Norfolk State in March to take an assistant position at East Carolina. We're curious to see who will take his place.
