4 Easy Trades to Learn and Start Quickly

4 Easy Trades to Learn and Start Quickly
Posted By: Hannah Whittenly on April 26, 2021

If you’re looking for a quick way to earn money and possibly make a full-time career out of it, learning a new trade will help you become more financially secure. Some trades are quick and fairly easy to learn, and you may even be able to do all your training online. If you’re ready to start working ASAP, you should look into learning one of these four useful trades.

Photography

The art of taking professional pictures has long been a desired skill. After learning about the finest aspects of photography, you may be hired by clients to take pictures of their weddings or other special events. Business professionals also hire photographers to take pictures for their profiles. You may even be hired as a freelance photojournalist for a magazine or newspaper. Even though no formal training is required to become a professional photographer, you should know how to use advanced photography equipment correctly. You can also choose to attend an in-person or online training course for additional training.

Transcribing

Transcription work involves converting spoken words into written form. Medical transcription is one of the most in-demand fields, and doctors may hire you to transcribe recordings regarding patient care. Other types of transcription work include transcribing lectures and the spoken words of speakers who have foreign accents.

You don’t need experience to work as a freelance transcriptionist but having strong typing skills and a headset is advisable. Online and in-person medical transcription training courses are also available to help you get started.

Pest Control

After you’ve completed your training, you’ll be prepared to serve people who need rodents, bugs and other pests removed from their premises. Specific training requirements for becoming a pest control specialist may vary depending on where you live, but training can usually be completed quickly and involves learning how to use the equipment and apply the pesticides correctly. If you choose to continue working in this field, you can enroll in some future online pest control CEU classes to continue your education.

Personal Chef

Your knack for cooking can be turned into a full-time career or side gig. Personal chefs are hired by private individuals to prepare meals regularly for their families or for special events. Even though it’s best to have some formal culinary education, you can still get started in this field if you’re already an excellent cook who knows how to prepare a variety of dishes. You may also need to be familiar with certain dietary restrictions depending on your clients.
Learning any of these trades can help you increase your income and give you greater security even in the most troubling financial times. If you want to ensure that you’ll always have work available, mastering the skills that are needed to work in these fields can give you greater peace of mind.
