President Joe Biden Nominates Black Woman As No. 2 Intelligence Official
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on April 27, 2021 Last week, President Joe Biden nominated intelligence technology expert Dr. Stacey Dixon to serve as the Principal Deputy Director of National Intelligence. If confirmed, this Stanford and Georgia Tech alum would become the first Black woman to hold the No. 2 intelligence position. Dixon has spoken about the need for diversity among the U.S intelligence community herself, so her confirmation would be monumental. “Dr. Dixon possesses a deep knowledge of the intelligence tradecraft and understands the critical work intelligence professionals perform every day,” Avril Haines, the director of national intelligence, told The New York Times. Congratulations to Dr. Dixon, and we look forward to her confirmation. If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
