PIMCO BLACK - 2021 Scholarship

About the Scholarship

PIMCO Black is excited to announce our inaugural PIMCO Black Scholarship, created to encourage Black and/or African American students who have an interest in investment management to pursue their goals through continued education. PIMCO Black is dedicated to supporting the growth and development of black professionals at all stages of their careers.

Scholarship recipients will be selected from application pools of undergraduates and graduates. Scholarship awards will be based on each candidate's ability to demonstrate diversity and inclusion leadership, financial need, and exhibit PIMCO core values - collaboration, openness, excellence, responsibility.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIAS
- Undergraduates currently enrolled in an accredited U.S. college or university as sophomores or freshmen in good academic standing.
- MBA or Masters students entering the 1st year of their U.S. based program in Fall 2021. Proof of admittance and intention to attend will be required.
- Ph.D. students currently enrolled at U.S. institutions in good standing.

WHAT TO EXPECT
- Applications are open
- Application deadline is May 2nd, 2021 at 11:59pm PST
- Final round selection interviews to take place in mid-May
- Award recipients will be notified on or around May 30th

AWARD AMOUNT
$20,000 per Scholarship
- PIMCO Black will award four $20,000 scholarships in 2021
- Two one-time sum scholarships for freshman/sophomore U.S. undergraduate students
- Two one-time sum scholarships for students entering their 1st year of a U.S. MBA or Masters program in Fall 2021, or current Ph.D students.
