Michael B Jordan Launches Hoop Dreams Classic to Showcase HBCU Athletes

Michael B Jordan Launches Hoop Dreams Classic to Showcase HBCU Athletes
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on May 03, 2021

Hollywood actor Michael B. Jordan is launching the "Hoop Dreams Classic" to show the world just how much talents can be found at our beloved HBCUs.

Jordan recently spoke about the event during an appearance on The Tonight Show.

This one-day event is scheduled to take place on December 18, 2021, in New Jersey and will involve four men's and women's HBCU basketball teams.

In an interview with Michael Lore from Forbes, Jordan said:

"This past year has been the tipping point for so many, including myself, in revving up support for Black people. As a Newark native, I am committed to bringing change to the community and am honored to be able to present The Hoop Dreams Classic as a way to celebrate the value of community, education, and Black college experiences. Through our shared love of basketball, I look forward to bringing the communal spirit of HBCUs to the city that helped shape me into the man I am today."

The event will also include a battle of the bands, special musical performances, and other events that highlight the HBCU experience.

Shoutout to Michael B. Jordan for always showing love to HBCUs!
