Matters of the Heart vs. Matters of the Mind

Posted By: Kimberly S. Smith on May 04, 2006 Sooooo..... you've dated, you've searched, and you've gotton comfortable. Then the pitchfork is thrown in the road and you and your significant other has parted ways. Now.... this time can be either used to re-evaluate yourself or this time can be used to fight for the one that you want. What's going on in his head? Is his mind really where his heart is at? Every move that he has made, every thought that he has had about, and every emotion that he's feeling during the departure were ALL predictable. -- "Step into my parlor, said the spider to the fly..."-- He's in my "WEB" and doesn't know how to untangle himself. The question at hand.... is it realistic to get someone back by giving them time to themself and allowing them to desire you..... or does that leave plenty of space for another to unpitch the fork???? It depends on whether he voiced a need for space, or you are just backing off. I don't think you have a choice if he's backing off. Whether it's issues, arguements, time or another woman, that caused it. Part of him being a man is making that choice. Maybe he will come back and desire you, maybe not. But I can tell you that you handicap a man by not giving him space to make his own choices. You're better off knowing that HE chose whichever and wasn't manipulated into it. If someone is unpitching forks, he's probally not ready to be committed anyway.
