NBA Superstar Shaq Donates 500 Pairs of Shoes to Henry County Students in Georgia

From providing Christmas gifts to children last Christmas to supporting high school athletes and athletic programs affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, O'Neal has made it a habit to help those in need. This time he's giving back to the community by donating 500 new pairs of shoes to children in Georgia. The Shaquille O’Neal Foundation partnered up with Soles4Souls and Reebok, to provide shoes for students in need. The students of Wesley Lakes Elementary School in Henry County recently got a surprise visit from Shaq when he personally handed out the shoes. That way, he was able to see the smiling faces of the children in person. “It’s all about the kids,” O’Neal told Fox 5 Atlanta. “The two things that really hurt me this year were seeing 40 million people out of work, and I hate seeing kids who don’t have what they need.” The foundation is slated to give out more shoes to children in need later this summer.
