I Feel, I Must!

I generally avoid at cost from asking for help. but because I have been blessed with a second chance, and the conditions, the opportunity and the timing, I feel, I must!
This recent article is the inspiration for reaching out at this time:
Mon Bijou Community Group Focuses Energy on Kids
My Half Centennial Perspective
I am Maroon on the island of St. Croix, I came to St. Croix from New York City, in 1969, not too long after Martin Luther King was assassinated. I had just turned 22, and living here was the first time I had not felt intimidated being Black. The Elders here were nurturing and supportive, especially those from elsewhere, who treated me the same way, they were nurtured by the Elders, when they first came to St. Croix.
Today, those Elders would be turning over in their graves to see what is and has happened here in the Territory!
The opportunity for the purchasing of the Mon Bijou storefront property, for sale, across the road from the Mon Bijou Community Center, would be the ideal location for this proposal I have been promoting and I am now asking for the help.
The Multipurpose Stimulus Business Proposal
I am one of the many Virgin Islands Government retirees, from the Dept. Of Education, owed a substantial amount of money.
The Virgin Islands Government, with this Federal small business stimulus initiative grant / loan program, could pay back some of that retro debt by transferring government vacant and abandoned buildings and properties over to those owed interested, for potential small business operations.
Tourism: From the Inside-Out
Each one of us here has to look at the Territory, as if it is our own personal home, and before you would invite a guest into your home, you would repair and clean house for your own safety and that of your guests.
During this financial and social realignment period here, especially on
St. Croix, the Air B&B opportunities are in abundance.
These are conditions, that feel worthy of my humbling myself to ask for the help to make this proposal to become a reality. This ill be self-sufficient in no time, one tourist season alone, not to disregard the on-line marketing. The complex can also be reconstructed by rehabilitation grant programs.
Take Away the GUNS…. Put Tools in Their Hands Instead!
It is not hard to imagine, that if these children were being provided with the material distractions afford our children, they would be doing and spend their time doing exactly what our children were doing or not doing.
Thank you for this opportunity,
Are Black Men Using Jail as a "Cope-Out"?
A "Cop-out," to me, is someone who is capable but would rather make excuses and blame something or someone else for their deeds or lack of doing anything.
A "Cope-out," on the other hand, is someone who would rather let someone else deal with their responsibilities and complains they are not capable.
