Red Ventures Promotes Clark Atlanta Alum Khemari Cook as Newest Chief Diversity Officer

Red Ventures Promotes Clark Atlanta Alum Khemari Cook as Newest Chief Diversity Officer
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on August 19, 2021

Red Ventures (RV), a leading portfolio of influential brands, digital platforms, and strategic partnerships that work together to connect millions of people with expert advice, today announced that Khemari Cook will be the company’s new Chief Diversity Officer.

In her role, Cook will lead global Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) efforts and continue RV’s impressive progress in creating a more diverse, inclusive and equitable place to work. She will continue to focus on broadly educating the organization on systems that have marginalized people based on race, sexual orientation, gender, or other identity factors and lay the foundation to reduce the prevalence or replication of those systems at RV as well as in the communities we serve.

“The success of RV is not defined by our bottom line, but by our ability to be a company where people can bring their whole selves to work, are accepted for who they are, and who are empowered to make a difference in the world,” said Ric Elias, Red Ventures CEO. “Over the last year, Khemari has shown a unique ability to galvanize and inspire our teams to strive for more than we thought was possible. I’m excited to see where Khemari leads RV in our journey to create a more equitable and inclusive workforce. "

Cook joined RV in 2018 as a Director of Paid Media, leading emerging channels in our Financial Services, Health, and R&D businesses. Following her passion for supporting people, Cook most recently served as RV’s Vice President of Education & Inclusion and played a key role in forming RV’s DE&I team in 2020. Cook’s background in building brands, business strategy, and communications uniquely arm her with the tools to support the development and expansion of DE&I efforts globally, while aligning their strategies with RV’s business objectives.

She is a proud graduate of Clark Atlanta University and holds a Master’s of Mass Communication from the University of South Carolina as well an MBA from Augusta University.

Shannon McFayden, who previously served as RV’s Chief Diversity Officer, will return to her role of Leadership Advisor, which will include continued collaboration with our DE&I team.
