Talk is Cheap: Art Thee Vocational Trade

Talk is Cheap: Art Thee Vocational Trade
Posted By: Ivan Butcher II on September 03, 2021

Discussing student's educational needs, I responding to a compliment and a comparison made to my relationship, I had as a teacher with my students and their desirer to learn.

These are some of my advanced art students from Elena L. Christian Jr.H.S. Advanced because they studied art with me all 7th, 8th, 9th grades at the Elena. Today, based on their skills and talents each one of them demonstrated back then, they would be the ideal artisan to partner with developing and operating the ART Factory Enterprise, I have in proposal for here on St. Croix.

Talk is cheap, this is the opportune time, not only to demonstrate the inseparable connection Art has to business, but for us to pool our talents and resources taking advantage by profiting from this anticipate growing tourism market. This is not to exclude the potential untapped on-line internet market out there for our cultural products.

I alone, The Butcher Shop operations initially would demand more than enough services for the reproduction of products I have for marketing.

Within the first year. the profits from my tee shirt designs alone would repay all invested obligations.

Just imagine all the many items that are already being out sourced to be made here, and the potential souvenir ideas still on the drawing boards of so many others, that this would create the opportunity for them to use this local art manufacturing service.

Looking for answers: where are some of these artisans, how are they using their talents, what are some of the souvenir ideas, who is interested, why would this not work?
The Art Factory would be my unfinished work, which would render testimony to the potential Mr. John H. Woodson Sr. saw in me, when he hired me over fifty years ago, at the Juanita Gardine Grammar School, in C'stead. In essence, I am seeking answers and support towards establishing The Butcher Shop and The Art Factory / Home Cottage Industry here on St. Croix.

What is considered to be junk and clutter to some, to others is seen as Art and potential Income!
