Thoughts for the Class of 2006

Posted By: Michael Harris on May 10, 2006 Man, the year is almost over with. I graduate May 26, 2006. Back when I started highschool, that date seemed so far away. Now that I'm here, it seems like it came fast. I'm really excited about graduating, but I don't look at it like I used to. Now, I think of graduating as a gateway to new responsibilities. After graduating, Ill turn 18 on July 14. After July 14, Ill be attending Fisk University in Nashville Tennessee. Five hours away if you travel the right speed limits. Don't get me wrong, I'm by no means a home body or the type that wants to stay with his momma (partly the reason why I choose an out of state school). Im happy that I get to move and spread my wings a little. My question is, how will I react to this freedom? I have self control over myself, but whats gonna happen when I don't have anybody yelling at me about coming home and doing work. Who is gonna be on me about being organized? When I get up to Fisk, I really have to get down to being more responsible. I can't fail and be sent back home. There are too many people that hold high expectations of me. I'm one of them. I feel the same way I am glad that I have someone to relate to son.....We will be iight tho just hold ya head hih and if you remember what yo just said...because that proves that you have it in you....You will be just fine....If there are people in your life that wants this for you dont let them walk away hold on to them and you'll be okay...=D ~*Lala~* Wednesday, May 10th 2006 at 11:01AM |

You sound like you have a good head on your shoulders but you just need to have friends or associates who will keep you on your toes. I'll be graduating from high school on May 25 and its all becoming more realistic now than it was before. I believe you can make it and that you wont fail you just have to pray and have faith in yourself.
