Well it is officially here...the last weeks before high school graduation. I can't believe after all the breakups, breakdowns, A.P. English, Calculus, History, and Political Science tests, and all the fun that it is all coming to an end. As excited as I am, I wish that I could relish in these moments just a little longer. My friends, most of whom are crazy lil white kids, and I have attempted to spend most of our time hanging out at my house or theirs just having fun and remembering the good times. Since our school is closing, yes we're the final Gadsden High School Class, we just want to make this the best culmination ever. However, I'm excited about going to Howard, meeting new people, and just getting out of Alabama and experiencing something new. God has really been good to me and given me the opportunity to do something that few people in my community and circle can and that 's have the guts and chance to get out of Gadsden. I love my city, but living here can put you in a mindset of just being stagnant and being content in staying in one place. But this is the beginning for me. All that my parents, my church, and those that love me, but most importantly God has taught me will be tested.

I'll have to prove that I'm the Whitney Hall that I've claimed to be all these years. The fabulous, famous, ferocious vixen that all my friends have come to know and love. Ironically I'm leaving a high school where all my friends are white to go to Howard where it will be a heard of black people, but that's what I love about life, the ability to adapt and fit in anywhere. If it's one thing I've learned from high school it's okay to be Whitney Hall a black girl, but most importantly I want people to see Whitney Hall a human being who is genuine. So with all thise said and all the random brain firings, I'm just happy about the future and grateful for the past. Now a few lines from Shakespeare's the Tempest:Our revels now are ended. These our actors,
As I foretold you, were all spirits and
Are melted into air, into thin air:
And, like the baseless fabric of this vision,
The cloud-capp'd towers, the gorgeous palaces,
The solemn temples, the great globe itself,
Ye all which it inherit, shall dissolve
And, like this insubstantial pageant faded,
Leave not a rack behind. We are such stuff
As dreams are made on, and our little life
Is rounded with a sleep.
The Tempest Act 4, Scence 1
Much Love, Whitney Hall Smile! God is Watching!
