Voodoo Doughnut to Help Support Black College Community
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on September 30, 2021 Voodoo Doughnut has introduced an exclusive new doughnut that will help to support students throughout the country. The Caramel Cha Cha Chai is a chai cream-filled raised shell doughnut, topped with a caramel drizzle, whipped cream and chai spice. Voodoo Doughnut has announced that a portion of each of this doughnut sold between now and December 27 will be donated to the Thurgood Marshall College Fund (TMCF), the largest organization exclusively representing the Black College community. “We are so proud to continue our relationship with the Thurgood Marshall College Fund.” says Chris Schultz, Voodoo Doughnut chief executive officer. “We first partnered with them for a special event on Juneteenth, and we were thrilled to raise funds for such an important cause. For more than 30 years, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund has been relentless in promoting educational excellence and preparing the next generation of leaders. We couldn’t be more honored to partner with them again.” Since its founding in 1987, the Thurgood Marshall College Fund has awarded over $500 million in scholarships, supported nearly 300,000 students attending Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and Predominantly Black Institutions (PBIs), boasted a 90% graduation rate for students in its programs and created pathways to economic mobility through degree attainment and lucrative careers. “We applaud Voodoo Doughnut for their commitment to the Black College community,” says Dr. Eric D. Hart, TMCF chief programs officer. “Finding partners with shared values is a high priority for the Thurgood Marshall College Fund and the students we serve. Voodoo Doughnut, like TMCF, is committed to education and serving its community.” Source: Bake If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
