Son of Pro Football Hall of Famer Edgerrin James Commits to Howard University
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on October 06, 2021 Eden James, son of 2020 Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee Edgerrin James, is headed to an HBCU. The three-star running back turned down offers from Miami, Wake Forest, and Indiana to commit to Howard University. “There are many reasons as to why I chose Howard,” James told 247Sports. “But one of the main reasons as to why I chose them is because of the opportunities the DMV area presents and the amount of consistent interest they have shown me from the jump.” Earlier this year, Edgerrin James spoke highly of his son to 247Sports, saying, “He’s going to be one of the smartest football players to play the game because I have already taught him everything about the game and he plays the position I play. The football part is easy." “I want to him to enjoy this [recruiting process], but at the same time, you also got to work. Nowadays a lot of these kids get caught up in social media and all these things that are irrelevant. We just work. We’re not looking for some rating. He doesn’t need to be a four-star or a five-star. That’s all irrelevant. He’s already got his grades. I mean he’s pretty much done with school. We’re locked in on football. My main thing is that he’s got to just take care of his body and work.” You already know, we LOVE to see more and more Black athletes making the best decision of their lives.
