Still A Rose

Still A Rose
Posted By: Nik on May 13, 2006

Well I know its been a little while since I wrote and brung all my readers up to speed on what's been going on in my life so I figure now is as good a time as ever.
Everything with school is going really well. I wont get the results of my AP test till July so the class has become like a free period now. I got my report card the other day (95,91,99,98,90 with a 94.60 average) so I'm feeling really good about that. I've also been invited to senior awards night on the 23rd but I don't know which award(s) I got. So pretty much I'm just chillin in these last couple of weeks before school ends, getting everything in order for prom and grad.
I start my training for work tomorrow. I have to call my boss today and get the exact address for the office before I be walk all over Queens like wth. Monday is officially my first day so I'm going to spend all today cleaning and doing laundry since I wont have time to do it once I start working.
The love life.....*smile* ehhh that's a bit complicated. Still haven't heard a single word from Andre. I actually found out the day after I wrote my last blog that he has me on block and changed all his passwords (we knew each other's stuff). Yeah....same thing I said. SO I changed most of my stuff, cried it out, and now I'm good. That was a small relapse but was the last time I had a breakdown over this whole thing.

Yeah I still think about him alot, wonder if he's okay, what he's thinking, what made him leave the way he did, but what else is a girl to do but move on?
Speaking of moving on, I'm not officially "talking" to someone. The crush I mentioned in my last blog has moved up on the ranking recently lol. I'm really not trying to rush this whole thing so we're taking our sweet time. Nothing big could happen until I move anyway so we have a good 3 months to talk and get to know each other the way we have. When I'm not thinking about school or Andre being an ass, I'm thinking about Shawn (that's his name). I'm just hoping that when things do get rolling, it'll be good and not drama the way it was with me and Dre.
I really have nothing to complain about. Momz is back at work and doing fine (thanx again for all the prayers), prom is fast approaching, the award that I got from AKA is bout to come up, everything is going pretty good. When I think about everything that's happened recently and how I let this man have all this power over me and my emotions, and how I'm feeling now I can't help but shake my head and smile.
He tried to break me down and I admit for a while he suceeded. It was like I was a flower and sat there and tried to pick all my petals off. But if there's one thing I learned through this whole thing (thanx in part to Aretha Franklin), is that a rose is still a rose.

strong women get through tuff things and get something better may not seem like it at first but but towards the end he missed out on the good things to out of you and to give to some one thats cares more on what is in his heart then with his other head.

Be encouraged...when I was 18-24 I went through all of that girl and there were many sleepless nights and "Lord, Whys" but from experience when I stopped looking and focused on God and my life-THEN I met my husband who is truly a blessing from God. I was not looking either- it does get better and there is a man out there who is perfectly made for ONLY YOU! God Bless-keep your head up and congratulations on graduation-especially those great grades.
