At Least 9 HBCUs Across the Country Recently Received Explosive Threats
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on January 05, 2022 We're only 5 days into the new year and things are already getting crazy. Yesterday at least 9 HBCUs across the country received explosive threats that led to students and staff having to evacuate campus. Thankfully, all of the threats were unfounded but it still has left the HBCU community shaken. Spelman College, Howard University, University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff, Norfolk State University, Texas Southern University, Prairie View A & M University, Florida Memorial University, North Carolina Central University, and Xavier University of Louisiana have all announced that after a thorough investigation, everything was all clear on their respective campuses. While it is unclear whether or not the threats made were race-related, this situation is very similar to what happened at several PWIs just a few months ago. Cornell, Columbia, and Brown were just a few schools involved in the last public incident. We are so glad that all students and faculty/staff are okay and we hope authorities find out the root of this scheme soon.
