Clark Atlanta University School of Business Hosts Innovative Food Entrepreneurs for Forward Forum

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 15, 2022 In honor of Black History Month and National Entrepreneurship Week, the Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration (CAU-SBA) will present “Cooking Up Innovative Success,” the second in its year-long series of Forward Forums at 10:30 AM (EST) Thursday, February 17, 2022. “The global food market generated over $8 trillion in revenue in 2020, and by 2027, the food innovation sector could exceed $342 billion,” says Dr. Silvanus J. Udoka, Dean of the Clark Atlanta University School of Business Administration. “Our next Forward Forum will explore this massive industry with three visionary founders who are innovating, leading, and succeeding in this business." Moderated by Burunda Prince, Chief Operating Officer of the Atlanta-based Russell Innovation Center for Entrepreneurs (RICE), the Forum will feature a panel of founding executives from three innovative enterprises in the food industry: * Jilea Hemmings, Co-Founder/CEO | Nourish+Bloom Market * Djenaba Johnson-Jones, Founder/CEO | Hudson Kitchen * Nicholas Perkins, President/CEO | Perkins Management Services and Fuddruckers All three founders are proud graduates of an HBCU (Historically Black College and University), hailing from Florida A&M University, Clark Atlanta University, Fayetteville State and Howard Universities. Hosted by the CAU-SBA’s Management and Marketing Departments and its Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurial Development (CIED), the Forward Forum is open to Clark Atlanta University students and business alumni. Business students from other HBCUs and food/hospitality industry leaders are also encouraged to watch the event. The Forward Forum series is part of a year-long celebration in recognition of the 75th Anniversary of the CAU School of Business Administration.
