Boston University Department of Physical Education, Recreation & Dance is committed to providing unparalleled educational and recreational programs, services, and facilities in order to promote health, wellness, and activities that strengthen the University and local communities. As a member of the Senior Management Team for the Department of Physical Education, Recreation, and Dance, this position is responsible for strategic leadership and execution of all marketing, communications, and public relations activities. This position works with departmental staff to: develop and document strategic plans and annual reports; develop, implement and evaluate departmental communications; manage public relations and engagement; and develop and disseminate/fulfill marketing, branding, and sponsorships. The Assistant Director of Marketing and Communications works with multiple audiences, including students, faculty, staff, alumni, the general public, university departments, and sponsors. As a Senior Team representative, this position serves as a supervisor of facility operations and programs as needed. This position schedule is somewhat flexible but may require some early mornings, evenings, holidays, and weekend responsibilities to cover facility operations, programs, and events.
