Thinking About Becoming a Software Engineer? Plan To Learn How To Use These Tools
Posted By: Anica Oaks on February 28, 2022

In today's high-tech world, software engineers play a crucial role in more and more aspects of daily life. Whether it's apps on your smartphone, computer programs you use in your job, or other areas of daily life, chances are a software engineer was involved in one way or another. Considered to be one of the fastest-growing jobs in the world today, software engineers are always in high demand. If you're considering this as a career or are just curious about certain aspects of the job, here are some tools that software engineers use daily.

GitHub

A web-based hosting service, GitHub is used by software engineers to discuss and share information on various types of software projects. Used extensively for issue tracking and code review, GitHub is considered to be a central place online where engineers can best utilize project management features.

LeanKit

A visual-management system that is cloud-based, LeanKit can be used in conjunction with Mesh Free Particle-Based CFD Simulation Software to help software engineering teams collaborate with each other much faster.

Using advanced Kanban capabilities, custom board templates, and state-of-the-art backlog management, LeanKit can in many cases help software engineers complete their projects quicker than expected and under the project's budget.

Codenvy

When software engineers are in the process of developing apps for anything, there are always plenty of bugs that need to be worked out along the way. To help with this, they use Codenvy. Another cloud-based tool, Codenvy is built to be an integrated development system, making it easier to use when coding and debugging apps. An open-source workplace server, software engineers like yourself can use Codenvy's features that include version control, resource limits, and much more.

Telerik TeamPulse

Used extensively by software engineers when developing mobile apps, Telerik TeamPulse lets you have a project tracking tool at your fingertips. When you use this tool, you will be able to share information on your project with developers, project managers, and testers in one centralized hub. Best of all, Telerik TeamPulse will flag areas of a project where best practices have been ignored, and also give you immediate access to current and past data on your current project or similar ones done in the past.

A fascinating career that is only expected to become more in demand over the next decade, software engineering is being used in more parts of your daily life than you ever imagined. By having innovative tools such as these at your disposal, there is virtually no type of software project you could not complete successfully.
