Dr. James B. Ewers Jr. Appointed to Morris Brown College Trustee Board
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on March 03, 2022 Morris Brown College has selected Dr. James B. Ewers Jr. as the newest member of the Trustee Board. Dr. Ewers, a native of Winston Salem, received his B.A. degree in political science from HBCU Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte and his Ed.D. degree in education from the University of Massachusetts. He brings over 40 years of experience working in education. “I think there are 107 HBCUs, and to be a member of the board of trustees of one of them leaves me humbled. These board positions are such important positions in the life of the college”, said Ewers. “I just look forward to making a contribution, I look forward to being a colleague, and I look forward to seeing Morris Brown College go forward in meaningful ways, authentically and academically.” Morris Brown College in Atlanta, Georgia, lost its accreditation in 2002 due to financial debt. The school regained accreditation 20 years later and is rebuilding. The school recently became the first and only HBCU to have a major hotel and management program, which is sure to draw new students. It looks like Morris Brown College is on the up and up, and we’re so glad to see it! Congratulations to Dr. Ewers on his new position!
