Growing up *tears*
|
Posted By: Raven Monroe on May 21, 2006 It's hard to believe that FOUR YEARS of high school are finally over. Everyone is talking about graduation and college. Cap & Gown pictures are back. I can't believe it's finally here! It seems like only yesterday that I was a goofy little freshman trying out for JV Cheerleading and swooning over varsity basketball hotties. I remember walking to the mall after school, now I would NEVER walk to the mall because I drive. I remember coming home from school because I had to. Now I come home when I want to, on school nights, getting home at 10:30. I remember not being able to have a boyfriend. Now my mom loves my male companions like her own sons. I can't believe I have friends who are engaged, who have children, who have careers. I can't believe I'm going to my friend's wedding in JULY! I can't believe I'm talking about getting an apartment for sophomore year! I can't believe my godbrother will be 21 this year! I can't believe my baby brother will be going to high school! I can't believe my older brother is engaged! I can't believe I'm 18! I am so excited, yet so scared about growing up! Life is preparing to change for the better. College is only the beginning for me! It's exciting and unnerving, and BEAUTIFUL!!! If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
