NBA 2K League Affiliate, Hornets Venom GT, to scrimmage against Johnnson C. Smith University Friday

Hornets Venom GT, the official NBA 2K League affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, will play a scrimmage game against the Johnson C. Smith University (JCSU) Esports Club’s NBA 2K Team tomorrow, April 15, at Noon in the JCSU Esports Lab on the campus of Johnson C. Smith University in the New Science Center. Following a 30-minute game, players from Hornets Venom GT will participate alongside members of the Esports Club’s NBA 2K Team in a virtual Q&A for fans. Both the scrimmage and player Q&A will be streamed live through the Hornets Venom GT’s Twitch account.

In addition to the full Hornets Venom GT roster, JCSU Esports Club NBA 2K Team players Tahj Burke, De'Anton Payton and Davian Wright, as well as JCSU Esports Club President Greg Fong-Wilson, will participate in the virtual Q&A session, scheduled to begin at 12:30 p.m.

This initiative marks a continued partnership between Hornets Venom GT and JCSU’s Esports offerings. In 2021, the Charlotte Hornets Foundation awarded $10,000 to a JCSU student minoring in Esports and Gaming Management as part of the organization’s Hornets Venom GT Scholarship.
