Now, four Jackson State football players will have opportunities in NFL camps. WR Keith Corbin III has signed with the Buffalo Bills, CB C.J. Holmes and now TE Kyland Richey with the New Orleans Saints, CB Al Young with the New York Giants.

Corbin (6-2, 200; Beaumont, Texas) was a second-team All-SWAC selection, led the Tigers and was second in the SWAC in both receptions (69) and receiving yards (921), and was second on the team with seven touchdown receptions (t-seventh in SWAC). Corbin posted six games of seven or more receptions, five 100-yard receiving games, and two two-touchdown games. Corbin had a season-high tying nine receptions for 110 yards and two touchdowns against Alcorn State, and posted eight receptions for 113 yards and two touchdowns against Delta State.

Holmes (6-1, 185; New Orleans, La.) gets an opportunity with his hometown team after posting 40 tackles (33 solo), with one interception, seven pass breakups, one forced fumble and one blocked field goal while returning a kickoff 37 yards. Holmes made a season-high six tackles (five solo) with one forced fumble at Alabama A&M, and made three tackles with a season-high two pass breakups at Alabama A&M.

Richey (6-4, 230); Cedar Falls, Texas) caught 11 passes for 138 yards for JSU last season. Richey had three two-reception games (Florida A&M, Tennessee State, South Carolina St.) and had a season-high 27 receiving yards against SCSU.

Young (5-11, 195; Cape Girardeau, Mo.) made 23 tackles (17 solo), two interceptions, 11 passes defensed, two forced fumbles, and scored one touchdown. Young made a season-high four tackles vs. Texas Southern, made three pass breakups and returned a fumble 26 yards for a touchdown as Mississippi Valley State, and again had three pass breakups vs. South Carolina State.

On Saturday, April 30, 2022, defensive end James Houston was a sixth-round selection by the Detroit Lions, as Houston became the 100th NFL Draft pick in Jackson State football history.
