World’s Largest Black Theatre Festival Selects NSU Theatre to Perform

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on May 06, 2022 The National Black Theatre Festival, the largest Black theatre festival in the world, recently announced the festival selections for 2022. The festival attracts over 60,000 attendees and Norfolk State University Theatre’s award-winning production of A Soldier’s Play has been selected. This fourth consecutive selection is a historic feat for a university at the festival. Only 30 productions are selected from a pool of hundreds from all over the world. Professor Anthony Stockard, who won a 2020 Kennedy Center Award for Excellence in Direction for the production, will again direct. The festival is August 1-6 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
