TSU Alumna, Nubian Simmons Recognized by Marquis Who's Who

As in all Marquis Who's Who biographical volumes, individuals profiled are selected on the basis of current reference value. Factors such as position, noteworthy accomplishments, visibility, and prominence in a field are all taken into account during the selection process. Drawing on over a decade of diverse expertise, Ms. Simmons now specializes in premium top 14 allergen-free baking mixes. Prior to embarking on her professional journey, she pursued an education at Tennessee State University, where she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education, with a concentration in Science and Mathematics. She continued her academic efforts at Tennessee State University, earning a Master of Business Administration in Supply Chain and Management in 2003. As a commitment to her field, Ms. Simmons has attained certification as a Women-Owned Business via the Women's Business Enterprise National Council and has been active with several industry-related organizations, including the National Association of Women Business Owners, the Business Council, the Specialty Food Association and Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. Ms. Simmons began her career as an entrepreneur, working as the owner of a company that served Historically Black Colleges and Universities. She continued her vocation as the owner of a graphic design business and, since 2014, has found much success as the founder and president of The Pink Bakery. In this capacity, she specializes in premium top allergen-free desserts for people suffering from food allergies. She is responsible for taste testing, marketing, selling and shipping allergen-free baking mixes. Ms. Simmons's commitment to her field derived from her personal struggle with food allergies. This inspired her to pursue baking gluten-free, dairy-free, top 14 allergen-free & vegan desserts only using Non-GMO, organic and fair trade ingredients. She built the 1st Black-Owned, Certified Gluten-Free and Certified Top 8 Allergen-Free dedicated manufacturing facility in Wisconsin. Long dedicated to civic advocacy, Ms. Simmons has contributed her time and services to the Food Allergy Alliance of the Mid-South, the Birthday Party Project for homeless children, the Make-A-Wish Foundation and the African American Chamber of Commerce of Wisconsin. Among her professional accomplishments, she is most proud of the attention The Pink Bakery has garnered across the globe for its ability to empower people with food allergies and encourage them to enjoy desserts again without incurring any health risks. She is equally gratified by her ability to continue creating a variety of products that expand the palates of her customers, thereby increasingly providing more options from which to choose. Ms. Simmons attributes The Pink Bakery's success to her personal experiences with food allergies. Her passion for empowering those like her, provided the impetus needed for the journey into the food industry. Looking toward the future, she wants The Pink Bakery to become the leading allergen-free Martha Stewart-like brand in the dessert business.
