SPC Brings Campus to Students with Launch of 360-Degree Virtual Reality Online Campus Tour

SPC Brings Campus to Students with Launch of 360-Degree Virtual Reality Online Campus Tour
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on June 10, 2022

St. Philip’s College has launched a new virtual tour, including video interviews and a fully interactive campus map. The guided tour is multifaceted, taking viewers on 360-degree panoramic views of 20 different locations across the Southwest and Martin Luther King Campus. The project was created in collaboration with YouVisit, a branch of the Education Advisory Board (EAB) that specializes in virtual tours.

“Our virtual tour provides a capability for our entire community to see the great sites of SPC while showcasing the outstanding programs and services we provide. SPC wanted to ensure we were strategic in providing accessibility to our potential student population who for various reasons may not be able to visit our college. This virtual tour embodies all of the values of SPC and represents the dedication and collaboration we have to assisting our community in closing the gaps of generational poverty,” said Dean for Student Success, Christina Cortez.

The virtual experience begins at the Welcome Center, which features College President Dr. Adena Williams Loston, who provides an introduction to the rich history and student traditions.

Stops along the tour include the Child Development Center, Turbon Student Center, Tourism, Hospitality, and Culinary Arts Building, Good Samaritan Veterans Outreach & Transition Center, Aircraft Technology Center, Diesel Technology Center, and Center for Health Professions. Visitors can interact with hot spots throughout the tour that provide an insider’s perspective into the academic experience. All location stops include an audio guide offered in English and Spanish describing the programs and resources available in each building.

With the launch, individuals can now visit campus from the convenience of their technological device. The virtual tour is a resource for current students looking to become more familiar with the campus and for alumni who may want to see the many ways their alma mater has evolved throughout the years. For prospective students, the virtual tour offers users the opportunity to apply for admission and request information on specific programs. The tour complements the on-campus experiences that can be scheduled via the schedule visit button on the platform.
