The Morehouse School of Medicine Pipeline Initiatives Minority Women in STEAM (WiSTEAM) Program is a year-long initiative designed to further engage historically marginalized women in science, technology, engineering, arts, and math as well as the health sciences and the health professions sponsored by Johnson & Johnson. This program is an expansion of existing MSM Pipeline program student initiatives including MSM-Tuskegee Airmen Global Academy Connect, STEAM Academy 4-8, STEAM Academy 9-12, and the Undergraduate Health Sciences Academy. The goal of this program is to bring together women and girls to provide near-peer and professional-to-peer mentorship, close the digital divide within marginalized communities, and develop mobile healthcare resources and interventions. For the 2021-22 academic year, MSM WiSTEAM was privileged to have nine Atlanta University Center (AUC) undergraduate and graduate students serve as mentors to our bright and talented Atlanta Unbound Academy, Harper Archer Elementary School, and Ivy Prep Academy at Kirkwood participants. Each WiSTEAM mentor brought enthusiasm, intellect, and passion for inclusive excellence in the sciences.
