Prairie View A&M University Students Selected As White House Initiative on HBCUs 2022 Scholars

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on June 13, 2022 The White House Initiative on Advancing Educational Equity, Excellence, and Economic Opportunity through Historically Black Colleges and Universities announced its ninth cohort of HBCU Scholars. Two Prairie View A&M University undergraduate students were selected to participate in the HBCU Scholar Recognition Program in recognition of their accomplishments in academics leadership and civic engagement. The selection process began with a competitive pool of over 350 scholarly applicants. Biology major Kennedy Paul, and architecture major M. Javari Henderson were among 86 candidates awarded the distinction of serving as ambassadors for the White House Initiative on HBCUs. Paul and Henderson will be provided with training and cross-university networking opportunities, an opportunity to work on issues specifically related to the HBCU community, and participate in national and regional events with professionals from a wide range of disciplines.
