Three Albany State Student Athletes Selected as 2022 MSP HBCU All Stars
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on June 28, 2022

Three Albany State University (ASU) student-athletes on the Women’s Softball team; Madison Hurt, Kenyatta Ayers, and Sydney Pettus, have been selected as 2022 Minority Softball Prospects (MSP) HBCU All Stars.

“We are proud of this accomplishment from three of our All-Star Softball student-athletes. Our student-athletes train hard to become formidable opponents on the field. This can be seen by the Golden Rams’ stellar 34-9 2022 season earning the title of SIAC Eastern Division Champions,” said ASU Athletics Director Anthony Duckworth.

Madison Hurt, a Phenix City, Alabama native, is a sophomore human and health performance major and infielder for the Golden Rams. In the 2022 season, she accomplished 57 hits, 7 doubles, 1 triple, 56 putouts, and 39 assists.

Kenyatta Ayers, a Rocketmart, Georgia native, is a sophomore business management major and outfielder for the Golden Rams. In the 2022 season, she accomplished 54 hits, 4 doubles, 2 triple, 58 putouts, and 7 assists.

Sydney Pettus, a Decatur, Georgia native, is a junior mass communications major and infielder for the Golden Rams. In the 2022 season, she accomplished 37 hits, 2 doubles, 12 homeruns, 140 putouts, and 2 assists.

Their accomplishments were recognized at the 2022 Minority Baseball Prospects (MPB) All Star Game on June 3 at Truist Park in Atlanta, Georgia.
