12 Benedict Track & Field Student-Athletes Named To All-Region Team
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on June 29, 2022

Benedict College had 12 student-athletes receive 15 All-Region honors by the United State Track & Field and Cross County Coaches Association (USTFCCCA).

Top-five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors, in addition to each of the members of a top-3 ranked relay team.

Only USTFCCCA member programs are eligible for awards.

Benedict's men's 4x400-meter relay team of Shemar Hylton, Jesaiah Jones, Malcom Carter Jr. and Philip Jackson earned All-Region honors. Carter also was named All-Region in the 400-meter hurdles. Shun Taylor was All-Region in the triple jump.

For the women, All-American triple jumper Savionna Glover was named All-Region in two events: triple jump and long jump. Eilika Lane was also a two-time honoree, earning All-Region in both the 400-meter dash and the 400-meter hurdles.

Also named All-Region for the women were Kyra Buffen in the high jump; Kaciann Cowan in the 100-meter hurdles; Jada David in the triple jump; Santiona Freeman in the 100-meter hurdles; and Paris Stanton in the shot put.
