If you're tech-savvy and interested in a career in engineering, there are many options for you. There may be a perfect job for you in this field based on your interests and skills. Here are just a few fascinating types of engineering jobs that you may be able to find if you have your background and interests.

Computer Hardware Engineer

As a computer hardware engineer you will be designing, developing, testing, and overseeing the manufacture of computer hardware, such as circuit boards, processors, and memory devices. Most computer hardware engineers have at least a bachelor's degree in computer engineering, although some employers may prefer candidates with a master's degree.

After gaining experience, computer hardware engineers can advance to positions such as project manager or senior engineer. You should take courses in mathematics and computer science if you are interested in this field. In addition to networking classes, you will need to be able to communicate with other engineers and technicians during the development process.

Software Engineer

As a software engineer, you will design and develop software applications. You'll also troubleshoot existing ones and oversee their implementation.

As part of this job, you'll be able to use your creativity and technical skills to design new applications as well as improve existing ones. You'll also need to be able to work well in a team, as most software projects involve collaboration.



A career as a software engineer could be a great fit if you have strong analytical skills, a keen eye for detail, and a passion for technology.

PCB Engineer

As a printed circuit board (PCB) engineer. You'll design and produce printed circuit boards for phones, computers, and most other electronic devices.

A career as an engineer designing printed circuit boards at a company like Advanced Circuits in your area could be incredibly rewarding. Since PCBs are used in all kinds of industries, these types of jobs can give you relevant experience that will follow you throughout your career.

Network Engineer

As a network engineer, you'll design computer networks that allow users to access information, communicate, and share content. Without these engineers, our world would be quite different. They design networks that can meet the needs of their clients and are at the forefront of this technology.

Network engineers develop and manage computer networks. These include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), and other kinds of networks. As one, you will need to have a solid grasp of computer hardware and software, as well as networking protocols. Troubleshooting networking problems and solving problems effectively are required skills.
