Posted By: Kennedy Williams on July 14, 2022 During the 2022 SIAC Football Media Day at the College Football Hall of Fame on Wednesday morning, the Conference announced the projected order of finish for each division. Edward Waters was selected to finish sixth in the East Division, finishing ahead of Clark Atlanta and AME rival Allen. Finishing ahead of the Purple & Orange in the East were Fort Valley State in fifth, fourth place Morehouse, Savannah State in the third position, Benedict in the runner-up spot, and defending SIAC champion Albany State was picked to repeat as East Division champion. In the West Division, defending division champion Miles College was selected to repeat, followed by Lane, Tuskegee, Kentucky State, and Central State respectively. Edward Waters finished 2021 with a 4-7 record under head coach Toriano Morgan, who will be going into his second season leading the Purple & Orange. The Tigers four wins were their highest win output on the gridiron since the 2018 season. EWU also came within an eyelash of clinching their first season of +.500 football since 2004, as two of their losses came by 10 points or less. The Tigers will open the 2022 campaign on the road in Miami Gardens on August 27th in the 2nd Big Cat Classic against rival Florida Memorial at 3:00pm. EWU will open their home and SIAC portion of the schedule on September 3rd against Clark-Atlanta at 4:00pm.
