The Girl In Me/The Woman I Be

Posted By: Savanah McCorvey on May 23, 2006 The girl in me wants to play, have fun and call it a day at the beach or at the park. The woman I be says to work, work hard and get home before dark. The girl in me says to live each day as if it's your last one! The woman I be says there's still more to be done! The girl in me doesn't want to grow up, doesn't want to see the cruel world that envelopes me. The woman I be says face the world and never lose your own integrity...you really are free. The girl in me says there's pain in growth, there's pain in the girl looking back at me. The woman I be says there's always going to be a little pain, a little tear, a little fear...but without these, who would really know we're here? The woman I be that I continue to see looking back at me? She's proud of her ancestry, her legacy, her prophecy and the God in me. She keeps me being the "woman I be"!!
