VSU: Johnson Named to the 2022 CIAA Preseason Team

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on July 21, 2022 As the VSU Trojans prepare for the upcoming season, the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) announced their team predicted order of finish and the 2022 All-CIAA Preseason Team during their first in-person Football Media Day since 2019. The preseason predictions and order of finish were voted on by the CIAA Football Coaches Association. Representing the Trojans on the All-CIAA Preseason Team is senior linebacker Zion Johnson (Woodbridge, VA). Last season Johnson played the Trojans 9 contest schedule, collecting 24 solo tackles, 41 assisted and a single sack for 3 yards. Collectively, the Trojans ended the 2021 campaign with a 3-6 overall record, 3-4 in the conference. VSU is entering a new era as head coach Dr. Henry Frazier, III takes the helm of the program. The Trojans are predicted to finish 6th overall in the CIAA, 4th in the Northern Division.
