Grambling State’s Jackson Named LABC President

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on August 02, 2022 Grambling State University head men's basketball coach, Donte' Jackson, has been appointed as the next president of the Louisiana Association of Basketball Coaches (LABC). Jackson, heading into his sixth season leading GSU, becomes the third Tiger coach to be named president of the organization, following Fredrick C. Hobdy (1979-80) and Larry Wright (2007-08). "It's an honor and a privilege," said Jackson. "It's going to be the first time in a long time since someone from Grambling held the position, and it's great opportunity for me to network with other coaches in the state and just keep buying our brand for Grambling State basketball." The Milwaukee, Wis. native led Grambling State to the 2022 Southwestern Athletic Conference (SWAC) tournament semifinals earlier this spring. The LABC was founded on Sept. 18, 1974 in Baton Rouge, La. With the sole purpose of forming an organization to promote basketball on all levels in the state of Louisiana.
