|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on August 03, 2022 Head coach Jimmy Drew announced on Friday (July 29) that Nick Carty and Aundrae Williams have joined the Lincoln men's basketball coaching staff as graduate assistants. Carty comes to Lincoln from Colorado State University, an NCAA Division I program, where he served as the head student manager and assistant video coordinator. Carty helped the Rams go 25-6 in 2021-22 and qualify for the NCAA tournament. From 2018-20, Carty played at Grinnell College, taking the team to the Midwest Conference Championship tournament finals as a freshman and to the semifinals as a sophomore. "I am extremely excited to add Nick to our coaching staff," Drew said. "Nick comes from a pedigree of winning. He is a non-stop worker and extremely competitive. As a former player, he understands wholistic player development and is completely invested in developing young student-athletes. He is going to impact what we do here tremendously." Williams just finished his playing career at Lincoln College in Illinois, where he averaged 10.4 points and 2.6 assists while leading the Lynx to a runner-up finish at the Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference tournament. Williams spent two seasons with the Lynx after beginning his career at the University of Illinois-Springfield. "I am so pleased to add Aundrae," Drew said. "Having just finished playing, he brings a high level of knowledge of the game and will be tremendous for our student-athletes' development."
