Posted By: Kennedy Williams on August 19, 2022 The Black College Football Hall of Fame (BCFHOF) announced the 2022 Watch List for the Black College Football Player of the Year Award. Fayetteville State's Defensive Back Brandon Barnes-Brown and Quarterback K'Hari Lane were among the listed. The award is presented annually to the most outstanding football player from a Historically Black College & University. The Watch List of candidates has been selected based on past performance and future potential. Barnes-Brown and Lane were selected as Watch List nominees from the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA). During the 2021 season, Barnes-Brown recorded a league-best five (5) interceptions, with 13 passes defended, ten solo tackles, and 13 assisted tackles. He completed the 2021 season with a total of 106 interception-return yards and one touchdown. After three seasons and 28 games of participation, the 5-11, 190lbs defensive back has accumulated ten interceptions, 20 pass breakups, and 58 tackles.
