FVSU Announces Wheeler Brown as Interim Director of Athletics
|
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on August 31, 2022 Fort Valley State University (FVSU) has announced that Wheeler Brown will serve as the interim director of athletics, following the announcement of the previous athletic director Anthony Holloman, Ed.D, as the 11th commissioner of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. Brown joined the FVSU administration in the fall of 2018. He has served as the Wildcats' assistant athletic director for athletic operations. "Mr. Brown brings the right expertise and background to keep our athletic department moving forward," said FVSU President Paul Jones, Ph.D. "I am excited for the future of our student-athletes and Wildcat nation." Before coming to FVSU, Brown served as the director of athletics for NCAA Division I Jackson State, where he led the department to six Southwest Athletic Conference (SWAC) titles and six conference runners-up team finishes, along with over 60 All-SWAC student-athletes and seven All-Americans. A national search for a new athletic director is underway. SOURCE Fort Valley State University If you enjoyed this article, Join HBCU CONNECT today for similar content and opportunities via email! |
