Dr. Wright Jones to Serve as FVSU Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal
Posted By: Kennedy Williams on September 26, 2022

FVSU alumnus Dr. Wright Jones, an internationally renowned plastic surgeon, has been named the 2022 Homecoming Parade Grand Marshal.

A distinguished surgeon within the Atlanta community and owner and founder of Muse Plastic Surgery, Jones is a native of Georgia who received his undergraduate degree in Biology from FVSU and later obtained his medical degree from Meharry Medical College. He completed his residency in general surgery at the University of Nevada in Las Vegas (UNLV), where he served as Chief Resident. Board certified in plastic surgery and general surgery, Dr. Jones excelled as a chief resident of general surgery at UNLV and subsequently completed a three-year residency in plastic and reconstructive surgery at the Emory University School of Medicine in 2013.

Throughout his career, he has honed his surgical skills while utilizing some of the most cutting-edge reconstructive and plastic surgery techniques. Today, people travel from all over the world to be operated on by “Dr. Wright Touch,” a name given to him by former patients. Although a highly sought-after plastic surgery specialist, he performs free reconstructive surgery for children in need through his foundation, Surgeon’s Touch Inc.

Named in coveted lists including America’s Top Doctors, Top 10 Doctors in Atlanta, and Atlanta Top Doctors, he is also the recipient of the Compassionate Patient Award from Vitals. Dr.

Jones was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society at the University of Nevada. Notably, he has also received a 2018 Patient Choice Award, Humanism and Excellence in Teaching Award, Most Outstanding Resident Award and five research awards.

Dr. Jones is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgery, the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, and Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. He was appointed to the committee of reviewers for the Aesthetic Surgery Journal. He is also involved as a philanthropist to several non-profit organizations, including the American Cancer Society. He has presented his research at national and international surgical conferences, including the International Surgical Society in Australia and the Asian Surgical Congress in China.

He has starred in the Lifetime Network television show, “Atlanta Plastic” and has been featured in other prominent media including CNN, Black Enterprise, E News, People, The Hollywood Reporter, Women’s Health, Marie Claire, Huffington Post, and many others.

Dr. Jones attributes all his career success to his Christian faith and his parents.

The Homecoming Parade will be held Saturday, October 1, at 9 a.m. in downtown Fort Valley, Georgia. Homecoming events kick off Sunday, September 25 at 5 p.m. with a Gospel **** concert held on campus at the Christine and Willie C. Jones Amphitheater.
