Wesley Wells, the magazine publisher of Our Mississippi, said the group of individuals are outstanding in their professions and strong advocates and leaders in their respective communities. “They are great Mississippians that we can all be proud of. Congratulations to them all,” he added.

“I am truly honored and humbled that Our Mississippi has included me in this distinguished honor among other remarkable leaders in Mississippi, especially my presidential colleagues,” said President Dr. Carmen J. It also recognizes Tougaloo College, one of the state’s prestigious higher learning institutions,” Walters.

The Mississippi’s Most Influential African Americans of 2022-2023 will be honored at the 2023 Our Mississippi Honors Gala on March 25, 2023, at the Cadence Bank Conference Center in Tupelo, Mississippi.
