Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on October 25, 2022 The Center of Excellence for Historically Black College or University Corporate Engagement at Ohio’s only public HBCU, Central State University, and other HBCUs nationwide present the Rise to the Challenge Summit 2022. The free event is offered via livestream broadcast or in person at the CSU Student Center in Wilberforce, Ohio on November 9 and 10. According to Central State University President Jack Thomas, this conference focuses on identifying, developing, and maintaining partnerships that strengthen student talent development and career placement. Sessions that focus on career readiness and pathways, sustainable corporate partnerships, and using successful practices include hands-on workshops, company-sponsored meet and greets, and a Presidential Reception hosted by Thomas. The day-long event connects students of HBCUs to career opportunities with corporate partners and allows corporate partners, small businesses, industry representatives, advancement and career service professionals to engage with students, faculty, and staff. “The Rise to the Challenge Summit 2022 provides a strategic window for our corporate partners to share with education professionals and students the resources available from their organization. This is an opportunity to continue to develop sustainable partnerships and collaborate on proven methodologies,” Thomas added. Along with Thomas, speakers and panelists include JPMorgan Chase Vice President HBCU Relationship Manager Sharnell Delmohammed, Fifth Third Bank Vice President of Community & Economic Development Marya Rutherford-Long, Nationwide Workforce and Legal Technology Associate Vice President Dr. Tonjia Coverdale, Senior Vice President, Strada HBCU and Engagement Daryl Graham, and many more professionals.
