SUNO Welcomes New Basketball Coach, Raven Fields!

Posted By: Kennedy Williams on November 21, 2022 The Department of Athletics would like to welcome Coach Raven Fields to the SUNO family. Ms. Fields is a former athlete and graduate of Winston-Salem State University. Out of high school, Coach Fields was recruited by several Division 1 schools such as the University of Georgia, University of South Carolina, Clemson University, and St. John's University amongst others. Highlights of Coach Field's playing career are as follows: Played on Nike Elite team Georgia Metros (2005-2007) Girls Basketball Report ranked 44th best college prospect McDonald's All-American honorable mention Featured in Street and Smith's Magazine Ranked 10th in the country at her position while playing at Indian River Star College. Played professionally overseas in the Dominican Republic Currently plays professionally for the Atlanta Angels While playing professionally, Coach Fields still finds time to give back to her community. She has a total of five years volunteering with William H. Spencer High School and Girls Inc. Coach is also an Assistant Coach for an AAU 9 and up team. Her goal is to motivate players on and off the court while gaining knowledge about the game and life. Quote: "You live to learn and once you do that you’ll learn to live!"
