Sprite Zero Sugar And Target Team Up For HBCU Steam Challenge, Inspired By Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on November 28, 2022

Sprite® Zero Sugar and Target have teamed up with Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever and are celebrating the creativity and ingenuity of HBCU (Historically Black Colleges and University) students through a STEAM creation challenge.

No Vibranium Needed
Current HBCU students can accept the challenge by showcasing their coolest inventions in the spirit of Wakanda, the most technologically-advanced, fictional country in the Marvel cinematic universe. Students are encouraged to dial up their creative prowess by entering a description and sketch of their best science, technology, engineering, art or math inventions using a Sprite® Zero Sugar bottle/can and up to five eligible Target-branded items.

Epic Battle, Zero Limits
Through December 4, invention sketches or drawings, along with a 250 word or less description of the idea will be accepted from students 18 years of age or older pursuing a bachelor’s degree and enrolled on a full-time or part-time basis at an accredited HBCU. All entries will be evaluated by a panel of qualified judges from Target and The Coca-Cola Company with three finalists selected on December 13, 2022, based on appropriateness to the contest theme, marketability, innovativeness and uniqueness of the creations.

The Throne Awaits
The finalists will be announced at the Celebration Bowl in Atlanta on December 17, where attendees will begin to cast their votes, with public voting open until December 26. The $5K grand prize winner will be announced on December 30, with runners-up receiving $1K cash awards and all finalists receiving mentoring sessions with Target and Coca-Cola executives.
