This Elite HBCU Is Working With Kaplan To Offer Free GMAT & GRE Prep
|
Posted By: S. Moore on December 21, 2022 Howard University, the alma mater of U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris, will begin providing all of its undergraduate students with free test prep courses for a variety of graduate-level admissions exams, including the Graduate Management Admission Test and Graduate Record Exam, through a new partnership with premier test prep service Kaplan. Howard — considered by many the nation’s premier historically Black university — is the third HBCU to become a partner in Kaplan’s All Access initiative, joining Xavier University of Louisiana and Cleveland State University. As part of Kaplan’s All Access mission, colleges and universities can help their students prepare for a variety of high-stakes admissions and licensing exams that serve as gateways to their professional goals, with zero out-of-pocket costs to students — potentially saving every student going for a higher degree a lot of money. EMPOWERING HOWARD STUDENTS ‘TO TAKE THE NEXT STEP IN THEIR EDUCATION’ The newly announced partnership builds upon Howard’s strong record in graduating more high-achieving Black graduates than any other HBCU. In fact, Howard produces more on-campus Black Ph.D. recipients than any other university — HBCU or otherwise — in the United States. “Part of our mission at Howard University is ensuring that education is accessible to students, regardless of their economic status,” says Howard University Provost and Chief Academic Officer Anthony K. Wutoh. “Bringing Kaplan’s All Access initiative to Howard University will relieve the financial barrier many students are faced with when it comes to the critical step of preparing for graduate admissions tests and licensing exams. “With immediate access to free test prep through this initiative, Howard students will be empowered to take the next step in their education, encouraging even more students to pursue their career goals and have a positive impact in their chosen profession.” For college and university leaders who want to explore partnering with Kaplan, click here.
