Miami Artist NOVACAIN420 AKA The Blind Rap God Drops New Single "Taste Like Koolaid"

Seeing this as a hurdle and not a roadblock, NOVACAIN420 continued to lock into his passion – as he is a pioneer and spearheader for blind culture in hip hop. While most blind people grow up without a chance to see what their families, friends and surroundings look like, NOVACAIN420 was fortunate enough to live with his eyesight until he was 17 years of age. Growing up, NOVACAIN420 (real name: Mario Nelson), had a troubled childhood like most kids. But, this negative attention caused him to land in a group home, where he was prescribed a daily dose of Lithium. With the intent to treat his hyperactivity, the side effects became a life-changer --- as his eyesight began to change. To make matters worse, Nova experienced the death of two key people in his life: his mother and step-father. When you go through life changes, your hobbies, interests and social circles often change. This is when NOVACAIN420 ventured into and embraced the blind community to uplift him (and to be around like-minded (and experienced) people). But while doing so, he experienced a lot of people who fell deep into depression and realized he wasn't going to allow blindness to destroy his life. This is when he fell in love with hip-hop. He found his passion and purpose when being around his brother, while he was creating music and beats – so it was only right for NOVACAIN420 to try his hand at it. After eight years of perfecting his craft (as it took extra effort – as he must write his rhymes in his head, since he cannot physically see them in the studio), he has found his purpose: to create and send positive messages and energy, and spread awareness for the blind community. All through the universal language of hip-hop. Of course, the music industry can be hard to break into, especially for the visually impaired. But Nova sets up his own shows, reaches out to blind organizations and stays true to who he is as an artist and as a blind individual. Independently, he has created the DONT DISS MY ABILITY TOUR, as an extension of his Blind Culture movement, which consists of benefit concerts, inspiring testimony, spreading Dissability awareness, and live music. Initiatives like these have made NOVACAIN420 – a staple and pioneer in blind community – as he has made history by becoming the first blind rapper to reach 1 MILLION STREAMS on the digital streaming platform Spotify. With a new image, a new sound, and new visuals, NOVACAIN420 is looking to expand his awareness through building a brand and creating superb music for the world to enjoy.
