Admission Fees Waived for Student Applications at Alabama State University until Feb. 28!

Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 21, 2023 By Kenneth Mullinax/ASU During this week only, students who are interested in attending Alabama State University may apply for admission at no cost. This $30 fee waiver is good only until the close of business on February 28, in honor of Black History Month. ASU's assistant vice president for Student Affairs and Enrollment Management, Dr. Freddie Williams, Jr., explained that the University is participating in an opportunity to help lower admissions barriers for potential students. "We hope this special outreach by Alabama State -- that ends on Feb. 28 -- will help students wishing to attend college who plan to apply to multiple schools or who have affordability issues and would like to submit a complete application of admissions to us with the $30 application fee being totally waived," Williams said. APPLICATION FEE WAIVED AND OPPORTUNITIES HEIGHTENED Williams believes that by waiving the application fee, even for a limited time, will help bridge a gap for students who wish to increase the number of schools considering them as students in the Fall of 2023, as well as some students who come from families that do not have a lot of disposable income at this time. "These are lean and hard times for many families in America that have children who desire to be considered to enter school in the fall. Due to ASU President Ross's foresight and caring attitude, the University is committed to helping make this happen," Williams said. "I encourage any student to go onto ASU's website now and click on 'apply' to fill out and submit an application for admissions. While it costs them nothing now, the education they will receive at Alabama State University will offer them an invaluable asset upon graduation, which will allow them to be successful in the career they choose to pursue in life."
