Posted By: Reginald Culpepper on February 21, 2023 Morgan State University is set to host a major student-led hackathon on April 1st & 2nd at the Graves School of Business and Management Building in Morgan State University. The event, which is expected to draw participants from across the country, will focus on promoting technological innovation and entrepreneurship among students, while also giving a chance to underrepresented groups. Organized by a combined team of student club leaders, the hackathon will provide a platform for participants to work on projects related to various fields of technology, including software development, blockchain, artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, and more. Participants will have the opportunity to network with industry professionals and mentors, attend workshops and panel discussions, and compete for prizes. "We're thrilled to be hosting this first of its kind hackathon at Morgan State University," said Temitope Ajibola, the Organizing Team Lead for the event. "Our goal is to create a space where students can come together to explore their passion for technology and entrepreneurship, and build skills that will help them succeed in their future careers." The hackathon is open to students from all backgrounds and skill levels in the United States, while also attracting students from historically black colleges and universities (HBCUs) and other underrepresented groups in the technology industry. The organizers hope that the event will help to promote diversity and inclusion in the technology field, and inspire the next generation of tech leaders and entrepreneurs. The event is being sponsored by The National FinTech Center, M & T Bank etc. and is expected to draw about 250 participants from universities and colleges across the country.
