She learned the basics about recording at a studio in Hempstead New York, where Rico Drayton aka Flava Flav recorded. He called her Secret Squirrel. She started her professional career as lead singer for the “New Magic Touch”. She sang in a Choir at Mount Sinai Baptist Church in Roosevelt New York, Donnie McClurkin’s former church, on a recorded “Homecoming” Program that Pastor McClurkin performed on. She is a former manager/member of Funknation Band, who played behind Peggy Scott-Adams. Angel wrote all music and most lyrics for both A Taste of Angel & Angel’s Soul Kitchen CDs. She also hosts Southern Sound Breakout radio show on WIGO Atlanta, GA and multiple other stations. She is also the Program Director for WBFZ 105.3 FM Selma, AL. Angel has performed on many Blues, Southern Soul, Jazz, Pop, R&B venues with artists such as the BarKays, Ms. Jody, Donnie Ray, Wilson Meadows, Yung Joc, Billy Soul Bonds, Pat Brown, Five Blind Boys, Pat Cooley, Bigg Robb, J Paul & the Zydeco Newbreeds, Ronnie Bell, Lacee & more.
