Trenholm State Community College is seeking two outstanding students to proudly represent the College on a national level through the HBCU Scholar Recognition Program.

The HBCU Scholar Recognition Program is a prestigious national honors program that recognizes top HBCU students for their excellence and tasks them with serving as representatives of their institutions, communities and the White House Initiative on Educational Equity, Excellence and Economic Development through Historically Black Colleges and Universities.

We need your assistance sharing this wonderful opportunity with students for the upcoming school year. This highly competitive program is open to ALL majors and classifications.

HBCU Scholars Recognition Program Benefits:

  • Student names and institutions will be mentioned in an official U.S. Department of Education and White House Press Release
  • Invitation to Formal Recognition Ceremony during HBCU Week Annual National Conference
  • Participating students will attend workshops designed to help them establish best practices as it pertains to, leadership, professional development, entrepreneurship and workforce development.
  • The Initiative staff, along with, public and private partners will plan activities that will take place on and off conference grounds
  • Recognized students may be invited to Initiative hosted events/meetings in their region
